Diya Payal is a 14-year-old from India who loves science, nature, and spending time with her family. While assisting her grandparents on their rural farm in the foothills of the Himalayas during summer holidays, she learned and grew passionate about plants and the importance of plant biodiversity. With camera in hand and mentored by filmmaker Camilla Becket, Diya interviews farmers, visits a community seed bank, and celebrates Hindu traditions with her family. Along the way, she explores how climate change and industrial agriculture are threatening plant species, shines light on sustainable farming, and examines the ways in which food, family, and farming are connected to her â€¯spiritual and culturalâ€¯ relationship â€¯with â€¯the natural world.

BYKIDS, a series of documentaries shot by teenagers from around the world, chronicles the budding filmmakers' real-life trials and the ways they address their problems, all through the lens of a camera.

Each half-hour documentary offers a close and personal look at the lives of five international teens (Faiza, Maria, Jayshreem, Namgyal and Alcides), between the ages of 16 and 17, who are each grappling with a very real issue-from religious bullying in New York City, to displacement as a result of war, to living as an AIDS orphan in Maputo, Mozambique.

Through the power of film, the teens are able to share their stories and ultimately learn how to become activists in their own lives.
