Plymouth Regional High takes on Trinity High in the First Quarterfinal Match of GSC

on New Hampshire PBS

Durham, NH (March 31, 2025) - Plymouth Regional High meets Trinity High on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 8:30 p.m. on New Hampshire PBS in the first Quarterfinal match of Granite State Challenge. Plymouth High defeated Prospect Mountain High and Trinity High bested Souhegan High on their way to the quarterfinals.

Playing for Plymouth High are team captain and 12th grader Reagan Sutherland along with 12th graders Norm Sackett and Max Shamansky and 10th grader Abe Hankens. Plymouth’s team alternate is 12th grader Mason Glew.

The team is coached by drafting teacher Jay Fogarty and world languages teacher Troy Harris. Plymouth Regional High enrolls around 658 students and serves the towns of Plymouth, Ashland, Holderness, Campton, Rumney, Wentworth, Ellsworth, Waterville Valley and Thornton.

Playing for Trinity High are captain and 12th grader Desmond Lee along with 12th grader Tyler Welch and 11th graders Long Nguyen and Teagan Hilliard. The team alternate is 12th grader Madeleine Souza.

The team is coached by social studies teacher Andrew Lavoie and math teacher Louis Sievers. Trinity High enrolls around 300 students and serves the towns of Manchester, Bedford, Goffstown and Hooksett.

After their win in round one of GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE, the Trinity High team felt slightly more at ease. “I think after getting one win, it just kind of calms a lot of nerves,” said Trinity coach Andrew Lavoie.  “You get a little more comfortable with how the game is played and what it's like under the lights.”

The winner of the game will move on to the Semifinals where they will meet either Tilton School or Portsmouth Regional High in a game airing on May 1st at 8:30 p.m. on New Hampshire PBS.
