ON THIS DATE.

  • 1789 - Alexander Hamilton is appointed the first secretary of the treasury.
  • 1962 - The Beatles recorded their first singles, "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You,"
  • 2001 - Four planes were hijacked by terrorists two flew into the World Trade Center in New York. one crashed into the Pentagon, and the fourth plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after passengers overpowered the terrorists.
