BISHOP GUERTIN TO COMPETE IN GRANITE STATE SUPERCHALLENGE MATCH

(DURHAM, May 2, 2015 ) - In this week's GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE match, Bishop Guertin topped Concord High School by a score of 405 to 220 to win a place in the finals and vie for the SuperChallenge cup.The Bishop Guertin Cardinals were represented by captain Timothy Morrison, Zachary Deming, David Travers, and Holly Boivin, and were coached by Lisa Larochelle. The Concord Crimson Tide was represented by captain Azwad Iqbal, Eliot Sands, Joe Ossoff and Annikka Matson, and were coached by Helen Dugan and Chad Fleming. Watch the match online.Bishop Guertin now advances to the semi-finals of GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE. The popular quiz contest began the season with 16 Granite State high school teams battling toward the coveted SUPERCHALLENGE title. Also, for a third year, there will be a Granite State vs. Bay State Governor's Cup match between the winners of the GRANITE STATE SUPERCHALLENGE and the WGBH Boston High School Quiz Show.Tune in Saturday, May 9 at 6 p.m. as the defending champions from Pinkerton Academy take on Manchester Central; the winner will compete against Bishop Guertin in the GRANITE STATE SUPERCHALLENGE.New Hampshire's top high school academic teams demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking and smarts as they play GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts and fine arts facts – along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and New England. Host Jim Jeannotte poses the Challenge questions; co-host Lori Warriner gets the behind-the-scenes story from each team.
