Bow HS Defeats Stevens HS in Round One Match of Granite State Challenge

– Bow High School Advances to Round Two –

(DURHAM, October 31, 2008) - Bow High School overpowered Stevens High School to claim a key victory on Friday’s Granite State Challenge, defeating Stevens by a score of 240 to 180. Granite State Challenge airs Fridays @ 6 p.m. and again Saturdays @ 8:30 a.m. on New Hampshire Public Television. The prevailing Bow Falcons were comprised of seniors Ethan Nappen, Teddy Wyly and Molly Milazzo, sophomore Will Sheffer, and alternates Stephanie Strong and Rachel Gottlieb. They were coached by Michelle Miller. Their opponents, the Stevens Cardinals, included seniors Adam Staszkiewicz, Rachel Eaton, Jesse Hughes and Kayleigh Kangas, as well as alternate Gwen Tetirick. They were coached by Gary Cullison. Tune in Friday, 11/7 @ 6 p.m. for the next match-up on Granite State Challenge Phillips Exeter Academy vs. Milford High School Tune in each Friday night @ 6 p.m. and follow your favorite teams' progress. The popular quiz contest begins with 32 Granite State high school teams battling toward the coveted SuperChallenge title. There are four single-elimination rounds leading to the final contest in May. Granite State Challenge brings New Hampshire's top high school academic teams head-to-head in spirited competition. Long-time host Jim Jeannotte asks the Challenge questions to the teams; co-host Tim Estiloz interviews team members prior to the game.
