Merrimack Narrowly Beats ConVal
ConVal Regional High fell to powerhouse Merrimack High in the third game of the quarterfinal round of GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE.
ConVal survived a tough match against 2016 and 2017 GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE champs Nashua High South to make it to the quarterfinals. Merrimack took down Winnisquam Regional High.
Merrimack is looking for a three-peat. They were champions in 2023 and 2024. They were also champs in 2020 and 2021. Their only defeat came in 2022 against Portsmouth High.
Merrimack now moves on to face the winner of the last quarterfinal game between Bedford High and Profile High in a game airing on Thursday, April 24 at 8:30 p.m.
GSC 2025 BRACKET
HOW DID WE GET HERE?
32 teams met at Merrimack High School to take a written test. The 14 teams scoring the highest on the test moved on, and four teams were randomly selected to compete in two non-televised wildcard games. The first game was a real nail-biter. Prospect Mountain narrowly defeated Bishop Guertin High, and ConVal Regional High bested Nashua High North to fill out the 16-team roster for the new season.
