(Durham, February 23, 2026) - The Giants of Bishop Brady meet the Patriots of Profile High in game three of GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE on Thursday, February 26 at 8:30 p.m. on New Hampshire PBS.
The Bishop Brady Giants are led by captain Alex Pelletier, a 12th-grader, along with 11th grader Andrew King, an 11th-grader, and 12th-graders Joseph Richardson and James Horangic. Serving as team alternates are 11th-graders David Cameron and Henry Thresher. The Giants are coached by History teacher Anna Schaffer and Math teacher Tom Morey. Located in Concord, Bishop Brady enrolls 225 students.
It’s been a while since Bishop Brady has competed on GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE, so when coaches Anna Schaffer and Tom Morey put out a call in October to form a trivia team, students responded. “We wanted to create a fun, no pressure academics quiz team,” said coach Schaffer. They now have a solid 12 students that the coaches can choose from.
Looking ahead to the upcoming game, coach Anna Schaffer said about her team, “They seem very prepared, but a little nervous because no one that they know has done this before. It has been a few years since Bishop Brady has been in this competition.”
The Profile Patriots are led by captain Maddie Perkins, a 12th-grader, and feature a lineup of fellow seniors Moses Rolfe, Wyatt Wright, and Marcus Hamilton. The team’s alternates are Henry Hamilton, a 9th-grader, and Raiden Valentine, a 12th-grader. The Patriots are coached by school counselor Jill Brewer and Social Studies teacher Paul Savard, representing a school of 130 students in Grafton County that serves the communities of Bethlehem, Easton, Franconia and Sugar Hill.
Profile captain Maddie is hopeful that the team’s diverse interests will give them an edge in the game. “Definitely politics and European history is a big one. And other little niches like science specific areas is a big thing in our group as well,” said Maddie.
Patriots coach Paul Savard can attest to the team’s wide range of interests. “Our team captain is obsessed at times with birds or with mythology, we have a math expert who does it all in his head and we have another person that is really into different types of music.”
The Profile team has known each other for most of their lives. “Me and one of my other teammates were the first to join the trivia team and we just started recruiting our friends,” said Maddie. “So, it’s our last hurrah. So even if we don’t win, it could just be our last time doing a big thing as a team together.”
Hosted by Bow High School teacher and former GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE coach (Bedford High), contestant (Belmont High), and GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE crew member, Jon Cannon, GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE features some of New Hampshire's brightest high school students as they demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking, and smarts to beat the clock and buzz in first on this iconic New Hampshire game show.
