Granite State Challenge - Quarterfinals

(DURHAM, June 3, 2021) – Tune in to NHPBS Saturday, June 5 at 6:00 pm for the last two games of the Granite State Challenge quarterfinals.

Playing in the first game are Londonderry High and Portsmouth High.  Playing for the Londonderry Lancers are Captain Chris Ferrick, Adhvika Arunkumar, Austin Kilgore, Nathan Ferrick, and alternate Brandon Morani. The team is coached by Peter Willis. Londonderry High enrolls around 1,521 students.

Playing for the Clippers of Portsmouth High are Captain Francis Powell, Nick Dahlen, Josie Sedam, Maddoc Johnson, and alternate Karina Havaleshko. The team is coached by Hannah Dul. Portsmouth High is located in Rockingham County. It serves the towns of Portsmouth, Rye, New Castle, Greenland, and Newington and has an enrollment of around 1,087 students.

Game two pits Bow High against Stevens High. Playing for the Bow Falcons are Captain Justin Murphy, Madeleine Kropp, Colin Bayer, and Rachel Budd. The team is coached by Michelle Hlavaz. Bow High is located in Merrimack County and enrolls around 625 students.

Playing for the Cardinals Stevens High are Captain Prescott Herzog, Gabby Savo, Libby Abbott, and Julia Tursky. The team is coached by Gary Cullison. Stevens High is located in Claremont, NH in Sullivan County. It has an enrollment of 546 students.

The winners of the two matches will move on to the semifinals airing on Saturday, June 12 beginning at 6 pm on NHPBS. The winner of game one will face Manchester Central. The winner of game two will face the defending champs, Merrimack High.
