BISHOP GUERTIN GRABS ANOTHER WIN ON GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE

(DURHAM, April 4, 2015 ) - In this week's quarter-final match of GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE, Bishop Guertin High School topped Bow High School by a score of 410 to 200. Bow trailed by just a few points at the end of the first round, but Bishop Guertin dominated the bonus round and maintained its lead after that. The Bishop Guertin Cardinals were represented by captain Timothy Morrison, Zachary Deming, David Travers, and Holly Boivin, and were coached by Lisa Larochelle. The Bow Falcons were represented by captain Jack Sheffer, Anna Morrison, Sean Fraser, and Conner Lorenz, and were coached by Michelle Hlavaz. Watch the match online. Bishop Guertin now advances to the semi-finals of GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE. The popular quiz contest began the season with 16 Granite State high school teams battling toward the coveted SUPERCHALLENGE title. Also, for a third year, there will be a Granite State vs. Bay State Governor's Cup match between the winners of the GRANITE STATE SUPERCHALLENGE and the WGBH Boston High School Quiz Show. The GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE quarter-finals continue next week with a match between Merrimack High School and Concord High School on Saturday, April 11 at 6 p.m. on NHPTV PRIME. New Hampshire's top high school academic teams demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking and smarts as they play GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts and fine arts facts – along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and New England. Host Jim Jeannotte poses the Challenge questions; co-host Lori Warriner gets the behind-the-scenes story from each team.
