HANOVER HIGH SCHOOL TOPS KINGSWOOD IN GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE

2025 TEAMS

(DURHAM, April 8, 2013) - The quarter-finals of GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE began with an exciting match last night, as Hanover High School overcame a 30-point deficit to emerge victorious over Kingswood Regional High School by a score of 225 - 180. It was indeed a battle between the Knights and Maurauders as Hanover trailed Kingswood after beetle-based bonus round questions. Hanover's knowledge of Italian-American directors and Google ultimately secured its win after the lead bounced back and forth in the second half of the game. The Hanover Maurauders were represented by captain Graham Reid, Matt Jin, Siddhartha Jayanti, and Hannah Sobel, and led by long-time coach Bill Murphy. The Kingswood Knights were represented by captain Nils Babcock, Dylan Tarbox, Andrew McCall, Michael Bloomer, and were coached by John Struble and Alfred Poirier. Watch the match online here. Hanover High School now advances to the semi-final round of GSC; this match and all GSC matches are available online to watch anytime.
