(DURHAM, October 23, 2006) — Last year, University of New Hampshire men’s ice hockey team beat the University of Massachusetts two out of three games—yet this year, Hockey East ranks UNH two spots behind them! Will the home opener lead to a win for the Wildcats, or for the Minutemen? Tune in to New Hampshire Public Television, October 26 @ 7 p.m. to find out! This is the 80th year for UNH men’s ice hockey. The Wildcats enter the season looking for their 6th straight NCAA tournament appearance. They return with 75% of their offense from last year, and their defense is anchored by junior goaltender Kevin Regan, a Boston Bruins draft choice. NHPTV will air ten home games this 2006-2007 season, as well as live webcasts of the games at www.nhptv.org, making it possible for UNH hockey fans worldwide to watch their team play. Games are archived at www.nhptv.org for online viewing anytime. Announcer Dan Parkhurst will provide the play-by-play action, and Bob Norton will handle color commentary during the games.
