Position Summary:

Reporting to Director of Development the On-Air Fundraising Producer will lead and execute successful on-air campaigns for NHPBS. From conception and business planning through analysis of results, coordinating the work of diverse internal and external contributors to cultivate revenue from individuals in ways that are creative, efficient, scalable, and sustainable.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the creation of the on-air fundraising (pledge) programming schedule based on revenue reports.
  • Report out campaign results, analyze year to year campaign data to inform campaign strategy.
  • Track on-air fundraising campaign results and recommend adjustments to programming schedule to maximize results.
  • Maintain clear, prompt, communication with station staff, including programmers, master control, traffic, promotions, digital, to keep them informed about adjustments to the TV on-air fundraising program schedule.
  • Work with promotions staff to ensure that on-air fundraising programs are promoted via a calendar of spots, web page posts, email, and social media.
  • Work closely with premium vendors to develop experiential premiums, optimize ticket offers and unique, effective thank you gift offers.
  • Work with Director of Development, on a strategy for growing concert and events ticket revenue, improving donor relations and integrating into the on-air fundraising model for receiving revenue.
  • Produce integrated calendar year end and fiscal year end campaigns with consideration of on-air fundraising drive introductions, mission message, programming genre support spots and in-kind thank you spots.
  • Oversee editing and building of breaks for on-air programs.
  • Preview programs to produce message points for talent.
  • Conduct research and follow conversations on My PBS, PledgeChat, Greater Public, TRAC Media, and other sources for trends, break points, message points, and best practices for on-air fundraising production.
  • Research national benchmarks and implement best practices for on-air fundraising.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Manage relationships with staff, studio crew, community partners and vendors, while providing excellent internal and external customer service, multi-tasking and making sure that schedules, premium offers, messaging, and other details on air are accurate.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter that is also a strong team player who seeks out ways to collaborate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends as required to support station fundraising and events.
  • Must be highly motivated, enthusiastic and possess desire to achieve

Education and Experience:

Four-year college degree or equivalent additional years of experience in media production, public media, marketing communications or related field.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required (up to 15 lbs.), filing documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional equipment as found in a typical office environment.
