NHPBS Celebrates its 49th Spring Auction

The NHPBS Spring Auction kicks off May 2 and runs through May 26 online at nhpbs.org/auction

(Durham, April 27, 2022) Looking for something sparkly, something tasty, something relaxing — or just the chance to visit someplace new? The NHPBS Spring Auction is your ticket to an exciting array of goods, services and memorable experiences, with the bonus feel-good factor of doing your part to support public television and community businesses. All bidding is done online at auction.nhpbs.org, allowing you to browse, bid and buy from anywhere.

The 49th NHPBS Spring Auction runs from Monday, May 2nd through Thursday, May 26th.

Several businesses that were unable to donate during the pandemic are making a welcome return, offering everything from jewelry and artworks to fine dining, gift cards, lodging packages, and recreational equipment. Some of the items up for bid include:

  • Cruise packages on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee with Mount Washington Cruises – celebrating 150 years of cruising the state’s largest lake!

  • A suite rental at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium to enjoy a NH Fisher Cats game.

  • Lilac bushes from the NH Governor’s Lilac and Wildflower Commission.

  • Lunch with Willem Lange, beloved host of WINDOWS TO THE WILD.

  • NHPBS tote bags, containing locally made, hand crafted items from NH MADE.

  • A romantic dinner for two with 360-degree views of the ocean and historic Newburyport, courtesy of The Lighthouse Preservation Society.

“It’s amazing how people are drawn to the NHPBS Spring Auction and really want to support the station and get a deal at the same time. It’s a win-win for everyone,” said Diane LaRochelle, the NHPBS auction manager. “The online auction has proven successful and even broadened participation.”

“When you go online and see what is up for bid, you’re going to see hundreds of businesses, new and old, large and small,” said Barbara Mariacher, NHPBS auction assistant. “It’s a great way to learn what’s in your community and support what’s in your community – New Hampshire, Southern Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts. This is a time when many of these businesses need our support.”

The sell dates for bidding are staggered over the course of 19 days: 5/8, 5/10, 5/12, 5/22, 5/24, 5/26. Selling starts at 8 p.m. each night.
