NHPTV CEO and General Manager Peter Frid Re-Elected Professional Vice Chair of PBS Board of Director

(DURHAM, December 6, 2007) - Peter A. Frid, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of New Hampshire Public Television, was recently re-elected professional vice chair by the PBS Board of Directors. The PBS Board governs and sets policy for the Public Broadcasting Service, and is comprised of 35 members. Frid serves on the PBS Board's national policy, executive, and station services committees. Frid also was recently elected chair of the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) board of directors. NETA is a professional association that serves public television licensees and educational entities by providing quality program content, educational resources, professional development, management support, and national representation. Frid has been New Hampshire Public Television's CEO and General Manager for over 10 years. NHPTV broadcasts analog and digital signals that reach throughout New Hampshire, Massachusetts (including the Greater Boston area), and portions of Vermont and Maine. Frid has more than 30 years of experience in the field of public broadcasting, including serving as general manager for public broadcasting television and radio stations in Juneau, Alaska, and Corpus Christi, Texas. Within the community, Frid serves as vice chair of television for the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters, and is a trustee at Riverwoods of Exeter. He is on the N.H. Business and Industry Association Board of Directors, and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Assembly of Overseers. Frid is a graduate of Leadership New Hampshire. He holds an M.S. from Syracuse University and a B.S. from Rhode Island College. He lives in Madbury with his family.
