Durham, NH (February 5, 2021) - New Hampshire PBS is proud to announce it has been awarded a New Hampshire Charitable Foundation Community Unrestricted Grant.  NHPBS will receive $60,000 over a period of three years.

In January, The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation announced $4,155,000 in grants through its Community Grants Program to support the operations of nonprofits serving New Hampshire communities. New Hampshire PBS is one of 88 nonprofits to receive funding.

Generous donations to the Charitable Foundation’s Community Crisis Action Fund, along with discretionary and donor-advised funds, made it possible to increase the total amount awarded through the grants program in 2020 by almost $1 million.

“We are honored to receive this funding for the next three years. The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s grant will allow us to support new initiatives and strengthen our core mission programs and services,” says NHPBS President and CEO, Peter Frid.

The first year grant allocation will be used by NHPBS to support its production of the weekly on-line public affairs program, THE STATE WE’RE IN, local program captioning, expanding educational services to New Hampshire middle school students and to support community insights and sustainability through monthly qualitative audience research from the University of New Hampshire Survey Center’s Granite State Poll.

NHPBS is valued by its viewers for providing high quality, educational programming that can’t be found anywhere else. PBS and its member stations, like NHPBS, has been voted the #1 trusted brand in America for 14 consecutive years by the American public (Source: Roper Poll).
