New Identity for New Hampshire's PBS Station

Engaging Minds | Connecting Communities | Celebrating New Hampshire

New Hampshire Public Television is changing its name to New Hampshire PBS on October 1, 2017. The change in name recognizes the strong relationship viewers express between New Hampshire Public Television and PBS.

“New Hampshire Public Television has been a trusted source of high-quality, commercial free programming for the Granite State since it first went on the air in 1959. Our programs and services have evolved dramatically since then. We are now a multi-media provider of five broadcast channels, online streaming video, education and community services. The affinity with PBS is in the minds of our viewers. We believe our new, fresh look reflects that,” said station President & CEO Peter Frid.

“New Hampshire PBS showcases the great programming and services our community members love and rely on,” Frid continued. “Icon series like NOVA, Nature, Great Performances and Masterpiece, children's programming, documentaries, dramas, British series and how-to programming are part of our offerings. Our award-winning local programs like Windows to the Wild hosted by Willem Lange, our high school quiz show, Granite State Challenge hosted by Jim Jeanotte and Our Hometown hosted by Rebecca Rule are all in production for new seasons.

The new identity also carries over to the station's main channels. NHPTV PRIME will become NHPBS and NHPTV EXPLORE will become NHPBS EXPLORE. To see NHPBS' five channels and program lineup, visit nhpbs.org/schedule

For over sixty years, NHPBS has provided the residents of New Hampshire and Northern New England with the best of PBS and award-winning local programs. To this day, the station remains committed to a handful of time-tested tenets: commercial free programming that engages minds, connects communities, and celebrates the Granite State in a way that entertains as well as educates and has impact beyond the broadcast. NHPBS is valued by its viewers for providing high quality, educational programming that can’t be found anywhere else. PBS and its member stations, like NHPBS, has been voted the #1 trusted brand in America for 14 consecutive years by the American public (Source: Roper Poll).
