(DURHAM, July 28, 2005) — Credit card management. Budgeting. Saving. Investing. Home ownership and home equity. These are all important components of our personal finances, but making sense of them can be daunting. Outlook on Money, a special New Hampshire Public Television series that was launched this spring, is targeted to people of all ages and income levels to help them establish and maintain financial security. The special project was launched through the assistance of a $50,000 grant from Citizens Bank Foundation. The first five “Outlook on Money” programs will air August 1 through August 5 @ 10 p.m. on NHPTV’s award-winning nightly program, NH Outlook. Beyond the 12 stories that will be broadcast in 2005-2006, “Outlook on Money” will be made available to schools, libraries, and community groups. Content for the series was contributed by 20 economic assistance and guidance organizations in the state, among them NH Jump$tart Coalition, Fannie CLAC and UNH Cooperative Extension Whether it's learning to live on a budget, teaching children to spend and save wisely, or planning for college and retirement, Outlook on Money offers advice from experts around the state. These financial literacy segments are available for online viewing at https://nhpbs.org/outlook/money/, along with interactive and other resources. NH Outlook is dedicated to statewide coverage of the people, places, politics, communities and culture that make the Granite State special. NH Outlook airs weeknights @ 10 p.m., and again at 1 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. You can also watch the program in RealPlayer, view past programs, and get program updates on the Web at www.nhptv.org/outlook. “NHPTV recognized there was a need for and interest in learning about financial management skills. We’re grateful to Citizens Bank Foundation for being our founding contributor for this project,” noted Peter Frid, General Manager and CEO of New Hampshire Public Television. “Citizens Bank Foundation is pleased to join New Hampshire Public Television in presenting this unique series,” said Tom Metzger, president and CEO of Citizens Bank. “We believe this series will provide residents with tools to make informed decisions that will help them reach their personal financial goals.” The Citizens Bank Foundation is the principal charitable contributions vehicle of Citizens Bank New Hampshire. The foundation’s support is focused on housing, community development and basic human needs.
