(DURHAM, May 10, 2010) — Beginning June 1st, Comcast will carry New Hampshire Public Television (NHPTV) digital channels NHPTV PRIME HD and NHPTV EXPLORE in the New Hampshire, Southern Maine and northern Massachusetts communities where NHPTV PRIME currently appears on Comcast’s channel lineups. NHPTV EXPLORE, NHPTV’s new lifelong learning digital channel, will be available on Channel 292 or Channel 296, and NHPTV PRIME HD will be viewed on either Channel 801 or Channel 711, depending on the individual community’s channel lineup. NHPTV PRIME HD has been available on a limited basis and the agreement with Comcast will allow it to be seen more widely. Additionally, NHPTV PRIME will be available on Comcast’s Digital Basic lineup after June 1st in southern Maine and northern Massachusetts. Customers who don’t already have digital equipment may obtain a free digital cable box for 12 months from Comcast by picking one up from their local Comcast service center. Customers may also request a paid, professional installation of the digital cable box by calling 1-800-COMCAST. “NHPTV is delighted that Comcast subscribers will at last be able to enjoy our digital channels. NHPTV PRIME will be available in HD and NHPTV EXPLORE will be available in SD. Both deliver unique, engaging and award-winning programming," noted Peter A. Frid, president and CEO of New Hampshire Public Television. “We encourage NHPTV viewers who have questions about locating PRIME and EXPLORE to go to our website www.nhptv.org/comcast for details, or to call us at (603) 868-1100.” ABOUT NHPTV PRIME AND NHPTV EXPLORE CHANNELS NHPTV PRIME presents the best of PBS programs, as well as NHPTV and independent productions with a New England focus.
