PEOPLE AMONG THE PLASTIC: EXCESS IN THE ANTHROPOCENE reveals the negative effects mass consumption has on our environment and how it can be minimized. In Indonesia's poorest communities, inconvenient truths pile up where "plastic farmers," who can barely make ends meet, secretly sort through waste from the United States, Europe and Japan. As these plastic farmers search for recycled materials they can sell to make their living, the Indonesian government attempts to crack down on the practice and quell its disastrous environmental impact.
