Oyster River High Meets Trinity High

Granite State Challenge - Quarterfinals

(DURHAM, April 18, 2023) - Oyster River High meets  Trinity High in the last quarterfinal game of Granite State Challenge on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 7:30 pm on NHPBS.

Oyster River High is represented by senior and captain Lincoln Bens and junior Aaron Eisenberg, sophomore Annika Clemmons, and junior James Li. The team alternate is junior Christopher Hawley. The team is coached by John Monahan. Oyster River High enrolls around 850 students from Durham, Lee, and Madbury. Oyster River High defeated Winnacunnet High in the first round of play.

Playing for Trinity High is captain, senior Katie Scali along with senior Liam Hodge, and juniors Hayden Becker and Matt Salafia. The team alternates are sophomores, Desmond Lee and Tyler Welch. The team is coached by Andrew Lavoie and Louis Sievers. Trinity High School is located in Manchester and enrolls around 330 students. Trinity High defeated Dover High in the first round.

The winner of the game will move on to the semifinals where they will meet Plymouth High.

Hosted by Bow High School teacher and former Granite State Challenge coach (Bedford High), contestant (Belmont High), and Granite State Challenge crew member, Jon Cannon, Granite State Challenge features New Hampshire's top high school academic quiz teams as they demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking, and smarts to beat the clock and buzz in first on this iconic New Hampshire game show. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts, and fine arts facts - along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and New Hampshire.
