Durham, NH (April 27, 2026) - The Cardinals of Bishop Guertin go head-to-head with the Nashua North Titans in an all-Nashua showdown. Don’t miss the final quarterfinal game of GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE on Thursday, April 30th at 8:30 p.m. on New Hampshire PBS.
The Bishop Guertin Cardinals are led by captain and 12th-grader Mohid Khan and feature a lineup of fellow seniors Declan Pyles, Teddy Bond, and Aidan Coffey. Supporting the team are alternates Grant Leonardi, a 10th-grader and 12th-grader Carter Rick and 10th-grader Derek Chen. The Cardinals are coached by English teacher Jeannette Riendeau and represent a school of 800 students in Hillsborough County, serving communities across Nashua, Merrimack, Bedford, Hudson, Hollis and Pelham. The Cardinals were Granite State Challenge champions in 1987 and 2015.
Heading into the final quarterfinal game, Bishop Guertin captain Mohid Khan made sure that his team learned from their previous mistakes and expanded their knowledge of fine arts. “I've been reading quite a few books, to prepare and learning a lot about broader American culture—more than I would've known before GSC,” said Mohid.
When asked about the team’s mindset, Bishop Guertin coach Jeannette Riendeau said that her team was ready for the game, but also knew that they were up against a strong opponent. “They were a little bit excited, but just a moment ago they said they were looking at the teams that are on the board right now, and they're all very good teams,” said coach Riendeau. “So, I think they're going into it cautiously optimistic.”
The Nashua North Titans are captained by 12th-grader Ryan Mamos, along with 12th-graders Daniel Morcos, Benjamin Kelly and Ethan Hobbs as members of the competition team. Supporting the lineup are alternates 11th-grader Marie Nalen. Coached by Timothy Bosch, the Titans represent a school of 1,650 students in Hillsborough County, serving the city of Nashua.
Being at the NHPBS studios and seeing the behind-the-scenes work that goes into a show like GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE had Nashua North team captain Ryan Mamos pumped for the next game with his teammates. “It is definitely a really fun group,” said Ryan. “I've known a lot of them since elementary school. It's just fun to be able to do this with them.”
Nashua North coach Tim Bosch remarked on the fun his team is having this year. “They're here with their friends to do this and enjoy the competition no matter what,” said Bosch.
Hosted by Bow High School teacher and former GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE coach (Bedford High), contestant (Belmont High), and GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE crew member, Jon Cannon, GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE features some of New Hampshire's brightest high school students as they demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking, and smarts to beat the clock and buzz in first on this iconic New Hampshire game show.
