(DURHAM, March 6, 2023) - Bow High meets Mascoma Valley Regional High in game six in the first round of Granite State Challenge on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 7:30 pm on NHPBS.
Bow High is represented by senior and captain Alessandra Sargent, along with seniors Emily Vincent, Theodore Barker, and Logan Fox. The team alternates are seniors Daniel Miranda and Becky Zheng. The team is coached by Michelle Hlavaz. Bow High enrolls around 650 students from Bow and Dunbarton.
Playing for Mascoma Valley Regional High are Captain and senior Gage Lambert along with seniors Logan Escano-Smith and Liam Finger, and junior Lidia Josephson. The team is coached by John Sweetland. Mascoma Valley Regional High School enrolls around 340 students from Canaan, Grafton, Enfield, Orange, and Dorchester.
The winner of the game will move on to the quarterfinals where they will face Plymouth Regional High on Thursday, April 13 @ 7:30 pm on NHPBS. The next round-one game pits Oyster River High against Winnacunnnet High School and airs on Thursday, March 16 @ 7:30 pm on NHPBS.
Hosted by Bow High School teacher and former Granite State Challenge coach (Bedford High), contestant (Belmont High), and Granite State Challenge crew member, Jon Cannon, Granite State Challenge features New Hampshire's top high school academic quiz teams as they demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking, and smarts to beat the clock and buzz in first on this iconic New Hampshire game show. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts, and fine arts facts - along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and New Hampshire.
