(DURHAM, March 24, 2022) - Tune in on Saturday, March 26 at 6 pm on NHPBS for the eighth match in the 40th season of Granite State Challenge.
The eighth game of the season and final game in the first round pits Londonderry High against Winnicunnet High. Playing for Londonderry are captain and senior Austin Kilgore, and sophomores Nathan Ferrick, Brendon Saranich, and Xander Cogan. The team is coached by Peter Willis. Londonderry High enrolls 1,521 students.
Playing for Winnacunnet High is team captain and senior Anna Murray, along with seniors Marissa Lambert Trey Gourgeot, and Adam Cico. The team alternates are seniors Sam Robie, and Julia Furlong.
Winnacunnet High is coached by Kevin Fleming and enrolls 1,024 students from Hampton, Seabrook, North Hampton, South Hampton, and Hampton Falls.
The winner of the match will face Manchester Central in the quarterfinal round.
Granite State Challenge features New Hampshire's top high school academic quiz teams as they demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking, and smarts to beat the clock and buzz in first on this iconic New Hampshire game show. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts, and fine arts facts - along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and New Hampshire.
