Today is Global Wind Day, Prune Day, Magna  Carta Day, Nature Photography Day, and National Lobster Day. On this date in 1215, England's King John put his seal on the Magna Carta. On this date, in 1648 Margaret Jones became the first person executed for witchcraft in the Massachusetts Bay Colony when she was hanged in Boston. George Washington was appointed head of the Continental Army on this date in 1775. Arlington National Cemetery was established on this date in 1864 on 200 acres of what once was Confederate General Robert E. Lee's estate. On this day in 1901, 1,000 people died in a fire on the steamboat General Slocum on the East River in New York City.  On this date in 1921, Bessie Colman became the first licensed female African American pilot. Musician Waylon Jennings was born on this date in 1937. Chines President Xi Jinping was born on this date in 1953.
