On this date in 1790,  Rhode Island became the last of the 13 Colonies to ratify the Constitution.  Igor Stravinsky's Paris performance of the "Rite of Spring" led to a riot on this date in 1913. On this date in 1953, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay reached the summit of Mt. Everest.  King Charles II of England was born on this date in 1630. Politician and revolutionary leader Patrick Henry was born on this date in 1736 he also gave a speech about the Stamp Act before Virginia's House of Burgesses, on this date in 1765, saying "If this be treason, make the most of it!". President John F. Kennedy was born on this date in 1917.
