Portsmouth Christian Academy Advances to Semifinals of Granite State Challenge

2025 TEAMS

(DURHAM, March 6, 2009) – Portsmouth Christian Academy defeated Merrimack High School by a score of 255 to 200 on Friday's Granite State Challenge. The series airs Fridays @ 6 p.m. and again Saturdays @ 8:30 a.m. on New Hampshire Public Television. The conquering Portsmouth Christian Eagles included seniors Sarah Wason, Kile Townsend, Emily Ruseski, Michael Frudakis and alternates Katy Sternberger and Kayla Emerson. They were coached by Donna Capern. Their opponents, the Merrimack Tomahawks, included seniors Meghna Chandra, Carolyn Chakuroff, Siddharth Soundararajan, junior Ross Johnson and alternates Dan Chick and Jeremy King. They were coached by Suan Ruggeri. Portsmouth Christian Academy will face the winner of next week's match between Phillips Exeter Academy and Stratford Public School on April 3rd @ 6 p.m. Tune in Friday, 3/13 @ 6 p.m. for the next match-up on Granite State Challenge: Phillips Exeter Academy vs. Stratford Public School
