Nashua South Faces Plymouth

GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE SEMIFINALS

(DURHAM, APRIL 30, 2018) – Tune in to NHPBS Saturday, May 5 at 5:30 pm as Nashua South High School takes on Plymouth Area Regional High School in the last Granite State Challenge semifinal match.

Playing for the Nashua South Purple Panthers are captain Ankita Devasia, Ben Telerski, Waithira Kiitu, and George Eid, as well as alternates Sathvika Korandla and Hailey Sweeney. They are coached by Greg Montine. Nashua High South is hoping for another win, which would take them to the championship match for the third year in a row.

The Plymouth Bobcats are represented by captain Richard Lyons, Rhys Harris, Konner Bird, and Martin Runquist, with alternates Austin Sanders and Clayton Titus. They are coached by Jay Fogarty and Troy Harris. The bobcats were the Granite State Challenge champions in 2013.

The winner of this game will face the Blue Devils of Salem High School on May 12.

Hosted by Jim Jeannotte, Granite State Challenge features New Hampshire's top high school academic quiz teams as they demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking and smarts to beat the clock and buzz in first on this iconic New Hampshire game show. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts, and fine arts facts—along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and New Hampshire.
