Gorham Middle HS Advances to Round Two of Granite State Challenge

(DURHAM, December 2, 2010) – It was a hard-fought match, but Gorham Middle High School came out on top defeating Moultonborough Academy by a score of 270 to 180 on last night's Granite State Challenge. Catch Granite State Challenge Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and again Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. on New Hampshire Public Television, and always online. The successful Gorham Huskies included senior Chris Turgeon, juniors Dan Temme, Ryan Mayers, Kyle Fortin, and sophomores Maggie Currier and Tyler Binette. They were coached by Peter Gagnon. Their opponents, the Moultonborough Panthers, included senior Caitlin O'Hara, juniors Kyle Fisk and Cameron McInnes, and sophomores Jerrica Davy, Courtney Delaney and Sarah Tgibedes. They were coached by Vickie Johnson and Diane Beaman. The popular quiz contest begins with 32 Granite State high school teams battling toward the coveted SuperChallenge title. There are four single-elimination rounds leading to the final contest in April. Long-time host Jim Jeannotte asks the Challenge questions to the teams; co-host Lori Warriner interviews team members prior to the game.
