Hanover High School Advances to Final of Granite State Challenge

(DURHAM, April 8, 2010) – Hanover High School proved their mettle on Wednesday's Granite State Challenge, defeating Bishop Guertin High School by a score of 325 to 305. The twenty-point win secured Hanover a spot in the finals. Catch Granite State Challenge Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and again Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. on New Hampshire Public Television, and always online. The victorious Hanover Marauders included seniors Nick O'Leary and Eleanor Reid, sophomores Gabriel Brison-Trezise and Jaden Gladstone, as well as alternates Aaron Watanabe and Sucharita Jayanti. They were coached by Bill Murphy. Their opponents, the Bishop Guertin Cardinals, included seniors Nick Aldwin, Andy Brink, and Nadia Morris, junior Brandon Pierotti, and alternate Chris Dicesare. They were coached by Mary Starratt and Aaron Weiss. Hanover High School will face the winner of next week's match in the Granite State SuperChallenge, set to air Wednesday, April 21st at 5:30 p.m. and April 22nd at 8 p.m. TUNE IN WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14 @ 6 p.m. LONDONDERRY HIGH SCHOOL vs. MANCHESTER CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL Tune in each Wednesday night @ 6 p.m. and follow your favorite teams' progress. The popular quiz contest begins with 32 Granite State high school teams battling toward the coveted SuperChallenge title. There are four single-elimination rounds leading to the final contest in April.
