Portsmouth High School Advances to Quarterfinals of Granite State Challenge

2025 TEAMS

(DURHAM, February 13, 2009) – The Portsmouth High School Clippers sailed past Belmont High School on Friday's Granite State Challenge, defeating the Red Raiders by a score of 205 to 145. The series airs Fridays @ 6 p.m. and again Saturdays @ 8:30 a.m. on New Hampshire Public Television. The conquering Portsmouth Clipper Ships were comprised of juniors Elizabeth Harvey, Garrett Rose, Linnea Kaye, and Max Esposito, and alternates Andrew Harvey and Erin Hayes. They were coached by Hannah Dul and Brendan Harrington. Their opponents, the Belmont Red Raiders were comprised of juniors Tim Gurshin, Peter Cloutier, Mike Farkas, and Andrew Norkiewicz. They were coached by Kevin Charleston. Portsmouth High School will face Fall Mountain Regional High School in the quarterfinals on March 20th @ 6 p.m. Tune in Friday, 2/20 @ 6 p.m. for the next match-up on Granite State Challenge: Lisbon Regional High School vs. Pelham High School
