CONCORD HIGH TOPS SALEM AND MOVES TO SEMIFINALS OF GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE

(DURHAM, April 9, 2016) - In this week's GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE match, Concord High School beat Salem High School by a score of 560 to 390. While Concord gained an early lead, Salem was within reach until the final round. The Concord Crimson Tide was represented by captain Eliot Sands, Conor Kilgore, Kyle McDonough and Sean Fallon, and were coached by Helen Dugan and Chad Fleming. The Salem Blue Devils were represented by captain Steven Beninati, Anthony Consentino, Aidan Gallo and Jonathan Tarness, and were coached by Jeffrey Dennis, Scott Kukshtel and Bernie Campbell. Hosted by Jim Jeannotte, the popular quiz contest began the season with 16 Granite State high school teams battling toward the coveted SUPERCHALLENGE title. Also, for a fourth year, there will be a Granite State vs. Bay State Governor's Cup match between the winners of the GRANITE STATE SUPERCHALLENGE and the WGBH Boston High School Quiz Show. New Hampshire's top high school academic teams demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking and smarts as they play GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts and fine arts fact-along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and New England.
