Portsmouth Christian Academy Advances to Semi-finals of Granite State Challenge

(DURHAM, March 17, 2011) – Portsmouth Christian Academy faced off against Bow High School last night in the second quarterfinal match of Granite State Challenge. The teams were neck and neck until the final few moments when Portsmouth Christian pulled ahead to defeat Bow, 305 to 270. Catch Granite State Challenge Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and again Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. on New Hampshire Public Television, and always online. The successful Portsmouth Christian Eagles included seniors Eric Baker, Nathan Hafner, Katii Capern, and juniors Benjamin Leavitt, Sam Haverly and Zachary Rubeor. They were coached by Donna Capern and Raymond Gamble. Their opponents, Bow Falcons, included seniors William Sheffer, Olivia Bergen, Stephanie Strong, Eric Chase, Rachel Gottlieb, and junior Aaron Forrest. They were coached by Michelle Miller. There are four single-elimination rounds leading to the final contest in April.
