Lake Winnipesaukee is flooded with vacationers every summer, but hidden from many is a 43-acre island of rocky woodland that has avoided development and modernization for the past 100 years. AMC's Three Mile Island Camp offers rustic cabins and a simple outdoor lifestyle of swimming, canoeing, sailing, and walking. Willem Lange visits this retreat to learn about its history, explore the island's beauty and meet the people who choose to get away from it all on New Hampshire's largest and busiest lake.
