This hour-long documentary film features interviews with medical professionals and their patients, shedding light on their experiences with trauma, how they cope with it, and ultimately how they overcome it in the best cases. Thousands of surgeons around the world have made a passionate commitment to working with people living in poverty. Often providing medical treatment free of charge to the patient, the doctors' care allows these individuals to avoid life-long disability and return to productive lives in their communities. TRAUMA HEALERS profiles the work of some of these top medical professionals, including four physicians connected with Harvard's Global Surgery and Social Change program, and Partners in Health, another Boston-based organization committed to providing medical solutions.
