Hidden in central London is the Palace of St James, often overlooked, but, in fact the real seat of royal power. Built by Henry VIII for his second wife, Anne Boleyn, by the time it was finished (seven years later), he was on to wife number four. The Chapel Royal's ceiling is dedicated to Anne of Cleves. 'Henry VIII's extended midlife crisis is really well illustrated at St James'.
