Holyrood House in Edinburgh is the royal's official residence in Scotland. This 'House' is in fact a fortress which has seen bloody struggles for power. It was the home of Mary Queen of Scots who witnessed the murder of her secretary David Rizzio there. And it's also where her second husband, Lord Darnley, was murdered. Her tragic history is written in her still-preserved rooms in the North West Tower.
