Not many songs in the history of the Universe have the power to bridge cultures, save towns, change lives, travel the world, set records and give pride to a culture, a community, a language and a people. "POI E: the story of our song" is the unbelievable true story of a song that did and the man who did it - Dalvanius Prime. "POI E: the story of our song" is a film about the New Zealand entertainer Dalvanius Prime, who returns home to Patea from the cabaret stage of Australia to nurse his dying mother. Upon his return, he discovers that his community is suffering from the closure of the township's main industry, the Freezing Works. Dalvanius Prime teams up with the Maori language expert Ngoi Pcwhairangi and his family of ex--freezing workers, the Patea Maori Club. And together they bring a song to life, which affects the spirit and cultural pride of Maori and New Zealand forever.
