Roger continues to busk by the riverside with Bob, but is mortified when he spots a familiar face. Edith and Phil discover a local bookshop hosting local author Wendy Stevens with a booksigning of her first novel, although Wendy is alarmed to see them and tries to steer them away from reading the book. Meanwhile, Joan is driving Edith mad, and when Roger begs his mother to let him have another go with Social Services she agrees.
