Here Am I, Send Me: The Journey of Jonathan Daniels

This program tells the story of New Hampshire native Jonathan Daniels, who was deeply affected by the events of the civil rights movement, joined the NAACP in 1963 and participated with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the march from Selma to Montgomery. His dedication to social justice was cut short in 1965 when he was shot to death in Hayneville, Alabama, while protecting the life of a young African American woman. Many believe that Daniels' death and the subsequent trial of his killer led to the passage of the 1968 Federal Jury Selection Act.
