There's a romanticized view of living abroad. Writers like James Baldwin and Richard Wright left the U.S. in search of a place to create, but also to escape the racism they felt in the United States. Fast forward 70-plus years later, and African Americans are traveling more and welcoming the idea of living abroad. In addition, many people have expressed their desire to leave the United States due to the politics of the previous administration. This episode will discuss African Americans who made the decision to travel and live abroad and the challenges of becoming an expat.
