Some experts claim that the economy is the third leg of the pandemic, and with millions of people out of work, limited work hours, and businesses closing due to the coronavirus, the stress of staying afloat is mounting. The economic burden of trying to feed a family, pay rent and hopefully not go into debt is growing as the COVID-19 pandemic rages on. Women of color have been hit hard by the economic impact, with some having to stay home to care for their children or family members. Also, with the uncertainty of another stimulus package and an end to the housing moratorium, people are in jeopardy of losing their apartments and homes. What can they do? What bills do they pay first? What options do they have to manage their growing debt? Our panelists will discuss these issues, as well as the resources available to help communities of color plan for the future while addressing their finances now.
