Back to Bolivia: A Lifetime Later

Back To Bolivia: A Lifetime Later follows double bassist Richard "Dobbs" Hartshorne as he returns to perform in six remote Bolivian villages where he had given concerts in 1969 as a Peace Corp Volunteer. In searching for people who still remember those concerts from 44 years ago, he seeks to determine if the performances he does now in prisons and war-torn places through Bach With Verse might also have resonance 44 years from today. A testament to the influence of music, you will be amazed at what he finds. The faces of the people and the spectacular scenery around Lake Titicaca form the backdrop for this intense story about the power of music. Bach With Verse (BWV) is a New Hampshire non-profit organization that brings hope, inspiration and laughter through music and stories to underserved audiences. In fulfillment of this mission, BWV presents concerts and workshops to children and adults throughout the world in schools, prisons, refugee camps, orphanages and rehabilitation centers. These performances are crafted with a unique blend of classical music and humorous stories put to music in order to be easily accessible to diverse audiences. BWV utilizes the unique talents of Richard "Dobbs" Hartshorne, a world-renowned double bass virtuoso, composer and storyteller. A graduate of The Julliard School, Dobbs spent six years performing in Latin America before joining the Apple Hill Chamber Players based in Sullivan, NH for 30 years, bringing music to the worn-torn areas through the Playing for Peace project and serving as NH Summer Festival Director. In 1997, Dobbs released his premiere recording on Centaur Records of J.S. Bach's Six Solo Cello Suites, performing the cello suites at pitch on the bass to critical acclaim. Dobbs combines his virtuosity on the bass with a gift for storytelling in 32 original compositions of hilarious and touching musical tales. Since 2004, BWV has presented Dobbs' One Man Show of Bach and stories in over 1000
