Live from the Artists Den

LIVE FROM THE ARTISTS DEN is an innovative new music series featuring extraordinary artists performing in extraordinary settings. Each episode of the weekly series features an intimate, invitation-only concert by cutting-edge, contemporary musicians, along with artist interviews and insights about the unusual venues chosen. Season one opens with a hits-filled performance by seven-time Grammy Award-winning, pop singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette, recorded at Judson Memorial Church in New York City. Future episodes feature iconic feminist singer/songwriter Ani DiFranco at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the oldest art museum in the United States; singer/songwriter Jakob Dylan, lead singer of platinum-selling band The Wallflowers and the son of Bob Dylan, at Desmond Tutu Cultural Center in New York City; recent indie-pop sensation Ingrid Michaelson ("The Way I Am") at Cape Cinema, a 1930s movie theater in Cape Cod; classic rock-inspired indie band The Hold Steady at a former bank cum designated NYC landmark; and soul singer/producer Raphael Saadiq (Tony! Toni! Tone!; Lucy Pearl) at the Harvard Club in Boston. Other featured artists this season include Aimee Mann, Patty Griffin, Ben Harper, The Swell Season, Crowded House, KT Tunstall and Josh Ritter. The Artists Den has been presenting emerging and established musicians in unique settings around the world since its inception in 2004. Initially a series of private living room concerts, the Artists Den has expanded to include unforgettable performances across North America and Europe by some of today's most significant names in music - in some of the most interesting, off-the-beaten-path locations imaginable. LIVE FROM THE ARTISTS DEN gives public television audiences a front row seat and behind-the-scenes look at these once-in-a-lifetime events.
