(DURHAM, March 31, 2004) Storyteller, author, musician and juggler Michael Parent will be featured during a Share a Story Night at the Gorham Public Library in Gorham on Friday, April 9 from 5-7 p.m. New Hampshire Public Television’s Ready To Learn service and the North Country Literacy Collaborative are co-sponsoring the event.Maine native Parent draws upon his Franco-American heritage in performing a unique blend of stories and songs in both French and English. While the target age for the Share a Story Night is ages 4 - 8, all are welcome. In addition to storyteller Parent, there will be free books and handouts for children and parents, hands-on activities and pizza.Share a Story Night is part of the national PBS KIDS Share a Story initiative, a national literacy campaign designed to inspire adults to help millions of children develop language and literacy skills through daily activities, including singing, rhyming, conversing, reading aloud, performing, drawing and writing.
