"The College Track" Documentary to Air on NHPTV

(DURHAM, September 22, 2004) - Innovative programs designed to bridge academic and social gaps and help students succeed are the focus of a documentary, The College Track: America's Sorting Machine, airing Sunday, September 26 beginning @ 3 p.m. on New Hampshire Public Television. The program takes a compelling look at public education in the United States, shaking up notions of which students are "college material." Ground-breaking methods that help ensure all students are prepared for higher education are examined.To help viewers get answers about college preparation and resources, NHPTV and the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHHEAF) will offer a toll-free number to ask experts questions (1-800-525-2577 x 119) between 3 - 6 p.m. Callers will be able to talk with the NHHEAF Center for College Planning staff about planning and paying for college.At 6 p.m., after The College Track documentary, NHPTV will air a special that focuses on access to postsecondary education and planning for college in the Granite State, hosted by NH Outlook's Beth Carroll.
