NHPTV Receives Top Honors at Associated Press

(DURHAM, April 29, 2005) – New Hampshire Public Television earned four First Place and one Honorable Mention awards recently at the state’s annual Associated Press Broadcasters Awards competition. The station garnered recognition in the following categories:First Place – Documentary or Series (tie): NH Outlook – “Colonial House” special, about the challenges of colonial life in New Hampshire (Beth Carroll, producer/host; Kim Piela, producer; Steve Giordani/Todd Ziemek, videographers);– AND – NH Outlook – “Alzheimer’s Special,” about a New Hampshire family coping with Alzheimer's disease (Allison McNair, host; Dawn DeAngelis, executive producer; Steve Giordani, videographer; Jennifer Vachon, line producer); First Place – Public Affairs/Talk Show: NH Outlook – “Friday Edition” program, when journalists from around the state discuss the week's top stories (Beth Carroll, host; Kim Piela, producer); First Place – Play by Play: UNH Hockey game coverage (Dan Parkhurst, play-by-play; Bob Norton, color analyst; Scott Jones, director; Linda Howe, producer); and, Honorable Mention – Documentary or Series: Golden: The Hobey Baker Story, a documentary about the star athlete and WWI hero Hobey Baker (Paul Lally, producer/writer; Ron Goodwin, editor; Jonathon Millman, videographer; Linda Howe, senior producer). NH Outlook, NHPTV’s award-winning nightly newsmagazine, is dedicated to statewide coverage of the people, places, politics, communities and culture that make the Granite State special.
