(DURHAM, June 23, 2005) – Kelly A. Clark, Director of Educational Services for New Hampshire Public Television, was recently named Assistant General Manager for the station. She will continue to head NHPTV’s Educational Services Division.Since coming to NHPTV in February 2004, Clark has written and begun implementing an educational services strategic plan. She recently led a statewide pilot to assess the use of educational video-on-demand products in New Hampshire classrooms. In addition, she secured funding to upgrade NHPTV’s video conferencing and Web streaming capabilities for distributing educational content throughout the state. Clark also serves as chair of the Granite State Distance Learning Network, a private/public partnership of 38 organizations dedicated to providing affordable video conferencing capability statewide.“Kelly has demonstrated outstanding skills in planning, implementation and organizational process during her tenure at NHPTV,” noted Peter A. Frid, General Manager and CEO of New Hampshire Public Television. “Her extensive involvement with the state’s academic, business and governmental organizations is a significant asset to NHPTV.”In addition to her responsibilities as Assistant General Manager, Clark will continue to oversee the educational programs and initiatives that are part of NHPTV’s Knowledge Network division. The Knowledge Network is committed to providing learners of all ages – from pre-school, K-12, post-secondary, business and industry and lifelong learning constituents throughout New Hampshire – with media-rich, technology-based resources, programs and services to enhance learning. It offers educational program/content development, educational outreach, professional development, distance learning, instructional television and Web resources.Clark previously was the executive director of the New Hampshire Forum on Higher Education, a coalition of business, education and public policy leaders working to improve affordability and access to higher education to sustain New Hampshire's economic prosperity. Clark also served as the president of the New Hampshire Workforce Opportunity Council, and as the town manager of Henniker and Gorham (NH).
