(DURHAM, November 16, 2005) -Pricing out a college education can easily send you into sticker shock! As college costs have escalated, financing a higher education has become increasingly challenging. For practical help in meeting this challenge, watch the next segment of New Hampshire Public Television’s Outlook on Money, airing on NHPTV’s award-winning nightly program, NH Outlook, Monday, November 21st @ 7:30 p.m. Get nuts-and-bolts information and expert advice on how to plan and pay for a college education, including guidance on savings plans, tax benefits and student financial aid.The program will follow the Beaulieu family of Manchester, New Hampshire, as they navigate through the maze of obstacles and financing options while planning for their daughter’s college education.Guests scheduled to appear on the program include Robert McGann, Director of Admissions at the University of New Hampshire; Mike Ablowich, New Hampshire State Treasurer and administrator of the state-sponsored Unique 529 Plan Fund; Pat Branscombe, Director of Guidance at Pinkerton Academy; and Shanyn Grenier, a New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHHEAF) representative.Outlook on Money is a unique series designed to help people of all ages and income levels establish and maintain financial security. Whether it's learning to live on a budget, teaching children to spend and save wisely, planning for college and retirement, or starting your own business, “Outlook on Money” offers advice from experts around the state. These financial literacy segments are available for online viewing at .Beyond the 12 stories that will be broadcast in 2005-2006, “Outlook on Money” will be made available to schools, libraries, and community groups. Content for the series was contributed by 20 economic assistance and guidance organizations in the state, among them NH Jump$tart Coalition, Fannie CLAC and UNH Cooperative Extension.The special project was launched through the assistance of a $50,000 grant from Citizens Bank Foundation. The Citizens Bank Foundation is the principal charitable contributions vehicle of Citizens Bank New Hampshire.
