Some Things Wild, Some Wonderful Up for Bid at Spring Auction!

(DURHAM, April 13, 2006) - What do a Troy Brown jersey, 1,012 board feet of lumber and a Scottish tartan have in common? They‘re up for bid during New Hampshire Public Television’s 2006 Spring Auction, kicking off Friday, May 5th at 6 p.m., and continuing live nightly through Saturday, May 13th.More than 5,000 donations will be showcased during the annual nine-day event, expected to raise more than $450,000 to help support NHPTV’s valued programs and services. Donors from throughout northern New England have contributed a wide-range of items, including weekend getaways, deluxe vacations, timeshares, artwork, fine jewelry, and more!A sampling of some of the more unique, one-of-a-kind donations includes:An extra, extra large Troy Brown jersey, for the high-bidding Patriots’ fan Boat ramp and storage privileges at Great Bay Marine for the 2006 summer season Box seats to a Boston Red Sox-Yankee game at Fenway Park, including limo service, and an autographed item from the Red Sox Opportunity to become a “Jr. Manager” at a UNH men’s ice hockey game (perfect for the 8-16-year-old hockey fan!) and get an autographed jersey The removal and closure of 275 to 6,000 - gallon underground heating oil tank, donated by C.A.B. Services, Allseasons Environmental and Analytics Laboratory 2 memberships to Lochmere Golf & Country Club in the NH Lakes RegionOn April 21, bidding will begin on Auction Superboard donations valued at $1,000 or more; these can be previewed at www.nhptv.org/auction. Center stage is a brand-new 2006 Toyota Prius with Hybrid Synergy Drive®, donated by Your New England Toyota Dealer, vacations in Ireland, England, St. Maarten, Hawaii, Florida, The Amazon, and Washington, D.C., valuable artwork, backstage passes to America’s Funniest Home Videos and Dancing With the Stars, and more.Donations to the NHPTV Auction valued at $75 or more are still being accepted until May 5th. Superboard items receive multi-layered publicity, including an on-air video presentation during Auction and web promotion.
