NHPTV Now Available on Dish Network in Burlington/Plattsburgh DMA

(DURHAM, October 31, 2006) - Subscribers to the Dish Network satellite service in the Burlington/Plattsburgh DMA (including Grafton and Sullivan counties, as well as all but two counties in Vermont) can now watch award-winning local programs and the best of PBS on New Hampshire Public Television. Dish Network subscribers in this area must have the local channel package and can then find NHPTV listed as Burlington PBS-WLED, Local Channel 49, Dish Channel 8944. With this expansion, NHPTV can now be picked up on Dish Network and DIRECTV in every New Hampshire county except Coos and Carroll. For the past three years, NHPTV and PBS national have been negotiating carriage in those two remaining counties with both satellite providers. NHPTV is now working to introduce legislation that will support coverage in those counties. The three-time winner of the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters Station of the Year Award, NHPTV boasts a lineup of daily children’s series, news and public affairs coverage, science and nature programs, and arts and performance specials. NHPTV’s schedule includes programs for and about the communities of northern New England as well as popular offerings from PBS and other distributors of public television programs. Viewers will see a great line-up of NHPTV programs, including local productions such as:• NH Outlook, which covers the people, places, politics and culture of the Granite State, airing Mondays and Tuesdays @ 7:30 p.m., and Sundays @ 9 and 9:30 a.m.;• Wildlife Journal, which explores the state’s beautiful natural habitats and its range of outdoor activities, airing Wednesdays @ 7:30 p.m.; and,• Granite State Challenge, the popular high school quiz competition, airing Thursdays @ 7:30 p.m.For further information, contact DIRECTV at www.directv.com 1-888-777-2454, Dish Network at www.dishnetwork.com or 1-888-825-2557, or NHPTV at (603) 868-4367
